eVeeR – Educational Virtual Environment for Epidemic Response

eVeeR is a VR training environment designed to prepare professionals for deploying mobile laboratories in outbreak situations, particularly in resource-limited or otherwise challenging environments.

The application is built around three learning objectives presented in successive modules. Participants begin by setting up a laboratory in line with biosafety standards, gaining hands-on insight into mobile lab concepts. They then explore a laboratory environment to identify potential biosafety and biosecurity risks and strengthen their awareness of hazards. Finally, they work through operational workflows in a mobile lab, experiencing the challenges and pressures of a real deployment scenario.

eVeeR was developed in partnership with the Bernard Nocht Institute for Tropical Medicine (BNITM) under the German Biosecurity Programme.
